Products Description of Glycerol Triglycidyl Ether CAS#13236-02-7

Glycerol triglycidyl ether, abbreviated as GTE, is a trifunctional aliphatic epoxy compound with a molecular formula of C12H20O6 and a molecular weight of 260.28. It appears as a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with relatively low viscosity, good water solubility and excellent diluting ability for epoxy resin systems. With three reactive epoxy groups per molecule, GTE acts as an efficient reactive diluent that not only reduces system viscosity but also participates in the curing reaction, increasing crosslink density and improving the mechanical strength, chemical resistance and adhesion of cured products.

GTE belongs to the glycidyl ether family, which covers multiple analogs including allyloxyepoxypropane, isopropyl glycidyl ether, butoxyepoxypropane and epoxphenoxypropane, as well as diglycidyl ether (EP-562). These analog chemicals possess analogous chemical traits and toxicological characteristics.

The product should be stored in tightly sealed containers in a dry, cool and well ventilated place, away from heat sources, open flames and strong acids or bases, to maintain its stability and reactivity during storage and transport.
