Product Description of Dodecyltrimethylammonium Chloride CAS#112-00-5
Dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride, a cationic quaternary-ammonium surfactant, is commercially offered in two distinct forms: anhydrous solid and industrial aqueous solution.
The high-purity anhydrous grade (98-99%) occurs as white to pale-yellow powder or chunks with strong hygroscopicity and tends to agglomerate upon moisture absorption, featuring a melting point of 37 ℃ and good solubility in water and ethanol. The widely-used industrial aqueous solution (32-52 wt%) is a colorless to pale-yellow transparent viscous liquid, whose viscosity rises with increasing active-ingredient concentration, and it is fully miscible with water. Both forms possess stable chemical performance as well as favorable permeability, emulsification, antistatic and bactericidal properties.

Product Application of Dodecyltrimethylammonium Chloride CAS#112-00-5
Dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride is a versatile cationic surfactant with outstanding stability against heat, light, strong acids and alkalis. It can be adopted as a surface-modifying raw-material for the fabrication of nanocapsules in material-related research.
In industrial scenarios, it functions as an efficient emulsifier, bactericide, disinfectant and antistatic additive across multiple manufacturing workflows. It also works as a phase-transfer catalyst for certain organic-synthesis reactions. Within the latex industry, this quaternary-ammonium product is applied as an anti-blocking agent and release agent, helping to improve surface properties and prevent material adhesion. It is suitable for fine-chemical formulation, textile auxiliary processing and laboratory material-development projects.
