Meloxicam CAS#71125-38-7

Selective COX-2 Inhibition: Effectively selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) activity, reducing prostaglandin synthesis at inflammatory sites.

Strong Anti-inflammatory and Analgesic Effects: Provides powerful anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and antipyretic effects without being a hormone-based drug.

Improved Safety Profile: Shows a stronger inhibitory effect on prostaglandin biosynthesis in inflammatory tissues than in gastric mucosa or kidneys, offering better safety compared with other NSAIDs.

Broad Therapeutic Applications: Widely used for the relief of symptoms associated with osteoarthritis, painful osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.

Products Description of Meloxicam CAS#71125-38-7

Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the oxicam class, with a molecular formula of C14H13N3O4S2 and a molecular weight of 351.40. It appears as a pale yellow to yellow crystalline powder, which is practically odorless and practically insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone, and freely soluble in dimethylformamide and dilute alkaline solutions. The product has a melting point of approximately 254-256°C with decomposition, and exhibits good chemical stability under recommended storage conditions.

As a well characterized pharmaceutical active ingredient, it is widely used in the treatment of inflammation, pain and fever, particularly for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Product Application of Meloxicam CAS#71125-38-7

Meloxicam is a non-steroidal pharmaceutical agent with antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. As a non-hormonal drug, it delivers potent efficacy in relieving inflammation, alleviating pain and reducing fever. The compound functions by selectively suppressing cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) activity, which further blocks the biosynthesis of prostaglandins in the body.

This drug exerts a more prominent inhibitory impact on prostaglandin generation at inflammatory lesion sites than on prostaglandin synthesis in gastric mucosa and renal tissues. This unique selectivity endows meloxicam with a superior safety profile relative to conventional NSAIDs. Clinically, it is mainly applied to alleviate discomforts and symptoms triggered by osteoarthritis, painful degenerative joint lesions, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.

In addition to clinical therapeutic uses, meloxicam serves as a standard research compound for relevant laboratory studies. It supports academic and experimental investigations covering drug mechanism overview, pharmacological efficacy analysis, pharmacokinetic characteristic testing and synthetic process exploration.
